Dry Falls
Sometimes people will mistake Bridal Veil Falls for Dry Falls because Bridal Veil Falls | s visible from the road and you can actually drive your car under it. But Dry Falls is so much more spectacular and worth a 15 minute stop to see this awesome force of nature available to anyone visiting the mountains of Western North Carolina. Dry Falls drops 75 feet, 40 feet of that distance is free fall. Aptly named you can walk right behind the falls to observe the power of this waterfall without getting wet! Although on windy days you might get misted! You will need to travel down a series of steps to reach the bottom, but there is nothing too strenuous about the hike.
You can find Dry Falls on U.S. 64 between Franklin
and Highlands well marked with signs and a big pull off parking area. The trail was renovated in 2012. You will need to travel down a series of steps to reach the bottom, but there is nothing too strenuous. The short, easy well-marked path has a hand rail to guide you down to, behind and around the
75 -foot curtain of rushing water. For wheelchairs or strollers there is a
great view of the waterfall from an over look board walk just at the end of the parking lot so everyone can enjoy this beautiful waterfall.
Just about anywhere on the Dry Falls
path affords a great view. Please do not go beyond the path or
railing. You can see the falls from in front, behind, or
the far side, allowing for
